The NY City Parks Foundation works in over 750 parks citywide, presenting a broad range of free arts, sports, & education programs, & empowering citizens to support their parks on a local level. JUN 5 ANNUAL SUMMERSTAGE GALA HONORING THE MUSIC OF JIMI HENDRIX Produced by Michael Dorf & City Winery 6.5.2012 | 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm | Central Park

JUST ANNOUNCED: WYCLEF JEAN Featuring performances by Karl Denson / G. Love & Special Sauce / Bebel Gilberto / Amel Larrieux / Living Colour / The Roots / John Scofield / Soulive (house band) / Keller Willams and other very special guests. This annual fundraising benefit supports CPF’s free year-round arts programming. The night begins at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail party for Platinum and Gold table purchasers held in the Pergola Area at SummerStage. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m., followed by the concert at 8:00 p.m….

A night not to be missed by fans of Central Park! Central Park is much beloved by New Yorkers, tourists, and artists of all kinds, including hundreds of writers, whose characters have walked through, kissed, killed, birdwatched, played football, played tennis, run, fallen in love, fallen out of love and been inspired by this beautiful oasis in a busy, noisy city. In an evening of selections mostly drawn from the new collection Central Park, edited by Andrew Blauner, Paul Auster will open the evening by talking about how the park has been his muse.Leonard Nimoy and other Broadway and Hollywood actors read selections by Auster, Colson Whitehead, Susan Cheever and more.
