Mac DeMarco announced for SummerStage 2018!

Mac DeMarco is the first ticketed performer announced for this year’s SummerStage in Central Park.  Tickets for the concert on Sept. 8. will go on sale this week.

DeMarco, whose “This Old Dog” hit number one on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart last year, will perform Sept. 8. Other ticketed performers will be announced throughout the spring, and free shows will be announced in mid-April, according to the City Parks Foundation.  The psychedelic rock, John Lennon-inspired artist has released three albums and is currently on a world tour, stopping in New York City for SummerStage between stints in D.C. and Colorado.

The pre-sale for DeMarco’s show starts Feb. 7, but general tickets go on sale Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. for $45 online. The proceeds make it possible for SummerStage to put on free concerts.

Last year, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Yo La Tengo, Regina Spektor, Jadakiss, Def Poets, among others, performed to packed audiences throughout the summer.

The show on Sept. 8 will be inside Central Park near Fifth Avenue and 69th Street. For more on the concert series, check out cityparksfoundation.org.
