Movies have been shot in Central Park for over a century now (the first was “Romeo and Juliet” in 1908). So what better place to celebrate the world’s most iconic park?

Join us at the 2014 Central Park Film Festival Aug. 18 through Aug. 22 to celebrate filmmaking in NYC:

Aug. 21: 
Ghostbusters (PG)
Aug. 22:  
Rear Window (PG)

Located on the landscape between Sheep Meadow and the 72nd Street Cross Drive
Gates open at 6:30 pm, movies begin at 8:00 pm

Films will screen rain or shine. A DJ will perform from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. The Film Festival is free.
All films are open captioned. Bring a picnic and a blanket.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy the films, the following are not permitted:
Alcohol
Glass bottles
Chairs
Video cameras
Tape recorders

Things To Do

From The Philharmonic on the Great Lawn to Shakespeare in the Park to SummerStage, Central Park offers an endless array of things to do, see, hear – and, with two full service restaurants and several cafes, taste.  You can visit The Shakespeare Garden, take in a performance at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, take a ride on the Carousel – or just sit and people watch at Bethesda Terrace!
