Central Park Blogger,
Thanks for posting this venue. I am waiting for this screening to be shown in NYC. Poor horses. Majority of New Yorkers want to end this cruel industry yet the city council is busy working on extending term limits. City council works of themselves and not for the people. They voted themselves a raise and now they will vote to extend their jobs. These horses are an example of the corruption and misguidance of NYC politicians. These horses deserve better.

Yeah, finally in New York. NYC city council are self serving monarchs.
Glad they are now screening in Manhattan. New Yorkers should all view this screening to learn the truth behind this cruel tradition. Slavery was once a tradition. Cruelty is immoral across all species.
Felix is 100% correct. Thank you for bringing this miserable situation to the attention of your readership. New Yorkers should turn out in droves to attend one of the 2 upcoming Blinders screenings in Manhattan. Many of us know the horrors of the NYC horse-drawn carriage industry, but for those who don’t, the documentary will be an eye-opening experience. And yes, the City Council should do its job and listen the many thousands of people who have stated their support for a ban on horse-drawn carriages in New York City. The fact that City Council is trying to overturn the ban on term limits–a ban that NYC voters have spoken clearly on, twice–illustrates the self-serving, arrogant, and corrupt workings of the Council. Sadly it is led by Quinn, the new queen of mean and a wickedly corrupt politician.
Thanks for the heads up. I contacted my council member about this issue several months ago but got no response. I hope the press covers these screenings so that our politicians see that NYers want an end to horse-drawn carriages in NYC.
This is a great film–I’ve seen it and would highly recommend it to people. Thank you for being a voice for the horses!
yes, I did see this film and as Ted I would recommend it to all New Yorkers and all Visitors to NYC to see the Truth that the carriage industry PR and lobbyists are hiding.

carriage industry intimidate pub owner to cancel event.
Will see this tomorrow. i am sure that the carriage industry will send in their spies to view it as well.
I attended the event today and the turnout was great. Two people were escorted out of the theater. One was a female driver and the other was a man who claimed he was media for the industry.
The DVDs are now available for sale for those who can’t attend the screenings. Learn the truth about his industry. It is such a shame that cruelty is condone in such a city and near central park. Central park is beautiful but I do avoid the Grand Army Plaza area because of the horses. it is so tragic to see them suffering and a lot of people seems not to care or understand.
