Central Park Bar

As of today, the Pera Turkish Taco Truck will be serving alcohol to thirsty park-goers. It received its liquor license yesterday from the New York State Liquor Authority, who said that the license was approved because Pera’s diners eat in a “specifically defined area.” That area is a food court-like plaza, where Tavern on the Green used to be and where three other food trucks are now parked daily. Two of those other trucks have also applied for liquor licenses; the third, an ice cream truck, has not—which is probably for the best.

The food truck court is conveniently located near Sheep Meadow, the perfect place to sunbathe on a sunny afternoon. So now you can enjoy a cold beer, a glass of wine or a cocktail out in the open, all within the leafy green confines of New York’s favorite park.
