After many years of traveling the globe, Cecilia Marta returned to NYC with a vision to bring together a diverse and extraordinary group of dancers that would create the Cecilia Marta Dance Company (CMDC). The company’s objective is to speak through the language of dance about the ritualistic rhythms and magical experiences Cecilia encountered throughout her life, and as a child growing up in Panama. As a multicultural dance company, CMDC is committed to celebrating diversity and unity by melding contemporary and traditional ballet, Latin roots infused with a world attitude, and nuances of earthy funk and soul.
